Tanya May

Tanya started Pole Fitness in 2017 after moving to Glasgow for university. She picked up a flyer for Pole Place at freshers week and decided to give it a go! She always wanted to try some form of dance or gymnastics but never had the confidence to and didn't think she could do it. Soon after starting pole, she realised she had connected to the sport more than any others she had tried in the past.

Through training at Pole Place, Tanya developed her skills, strength, flexibility and most importantly, her confidence. Pole has pushed her further than she thought possible and she is amazed at what her body has been capable of throughout her pole journey so far and is looking forward to continuing her personal progression alongside teaching.

She has gained a wonderful pole family through Pole Place and loves supporting all the new members that start pole fitness. This is the main reason she decided that she wanted to become an instructor, so she could inspire, motivate and encourage people who are new to the sport and might not have the confidence like she also once didn't have.

Sandy fell in love with pole and loves the challenges it brings. Pole has given her confidence both when training and in other aspects of her life.

Sandy doesn’t see teaching as a career move; it’s her passion to help others enjoy the benefits of feeling great. She loves to share with others and to be able to put something back into the pole community.

Sandy demonstrates that you don’t need to be an eighteen year old to be able to grasp the skills, and feels strongly that absolutely anyone can start at any time in their life.
